I teach second graders at a private school in the Kansas City area. I work with the best colleagues and students on the planet.

I married my best friend, Shea, in the summer of 2012 and look forward to decades of adventures with him.

We met in 2007 at the University of Kansas (go Jayhawks!) where I graduated with a degree in Journalism. After working in advertising for three years, (and to nobody's surprise) I decided to go back to school for a teaching degree. I worked as an assistant teacher in a private school until I graduated from Rockhurst University (go Hawks!) in 2012 with a Master of Education. Upon graduation, I was hired to teach second graders in my current school.

In March 2015, we had our own little peanut, Asher.

My school allows flexibility and creativity in our curriculum and units. My job is truly an adventure of creativity, collaboration and exploration. We also have a 1:1 iPad program, allowing me to incorporate quite a bit of technology into our daily lessons. Teaching is an adventure, and I am excited to be on the front end of my career!
